EB-3
EB-3 green card: frequently asked questions
The EB-3 covers three subgroups: professionals with a bachelor's degree, skilled workers with at least two years of training or experience, and other workers for roles requiring less than two years. All require a job offer and PERM certification. It is the widest entry point to employment-based residence, and also the most in demand.

- ProfessionalsBachelor's degree
- Roles requiring at least a US bachelor's degree or its foreign equivalent. Experience does not substitute for the degree in this subgroup: without it, the route is skilled worker.
- SkilledTwo years or more
- Roles requiring at least two years of training or work experience. This is the subgroup most used when the degree does not map exactly onto the role offered.
- OtherUnder two years
- Unskilled roles requiring less than two years of training. It has its own, far smaller allocation, and carries the longest waits in the system.
